Everything about Fashiontelevision totally explained
FashionTelevision, also known as
FT, is a Canadian produced special interest show that originally aired weekly on
Citytv in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and for many years on
E! and sister network
style in the
United States. The show, airing for 30 minutes including commercials, is hosted by
Jeanne Beker. It became popular in Canada, eventually coming to air across the nation on all stations owned by
CHUM Limited, Citytv's owner. The show is also broadcast in syndication in many parts of Europe making host Jeanne Beker a very recognizable person in the fashion world and an almost unofficial expert in it. The show's theme song is "
Obsession" by the group
Animotion.
The success of the show caused the creation of the
FashionTelevisionChannel, a Canadian specialty cable channel.
Due to the change in ownership of Citytv's former parent company, CHUM Limited, the show has moved to
CTV as of January 2008. CTV's parent company
CTVglobemedia bought out CHUM in June of 2007.
Rogers Communications has subsequently since pulled all programming from the schedule of Citytv that was originally/became a CHUM Television (CTVglobemedia) production (Fashion Television).
